Louisiana Medicare Part D Plans

Full list of 2012 Louisiana Medicare Part D plans

Louisiana Medicare Part D MapIf you are going to receive your medical benefits from original Medicare, with or with an additional supplemental policy, you should enroll in a stand-alone Part D plan when you first become eligible to avoid the late enrollment penalty.

If you plan to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan that includes Part D, your drug benefits may be different than those of stand-alone plans even if from the same company.

There are two types of Louisiana Medicare Part D plans: Basic and enhanced. A basic plan is less expensive and includes fewer covered drugs. An enhanced plan, although more expensive, includes many less common and more expensive drugs and generally does not require an annual deductible. An enhanced plan may also offer some additional coverage in the gap.

The following list will allow you to compare features side-by-side so you can narrow your list of plans you would like to compare. Visiting each plan’s website and reviewing plan formularies, pharmacy networks and mail order options is recommended.
